Jake Paul's one-word reaction to Mike Perry claiming he broke his rib in 10 seconds

Jake Paul gave a stunned one-word reaction to Mike Perry revealing he suffered a horrible injury from his opponent's first punch.

‘The Problem Child’ faced off against former UFC star Perry in a boxing match on July 20, with Paul earning a sixth TKO victory, taking his professional record to 10-1. The influencer accepted the fight with bare-knuckle boxing star Perry following his showcase bout with Mike Tyson being delayed until November.

There were doubts over whether Paul was jeopardising his Tyson payday by squaring off against Perry, the reigning BKFC middleweight champion. However, Paul was a step above his opponent, dropping him three times before scoring a stoppage victory.

It has led to outlandish claims that Paul could fight for a world title in the future, despite the majority of his bouts coming against ex-UFC fighters. However, Perry confessed that Paul truly packs a punch and broke his rib in the opening moments of their fight.

“First 10 seconds, that first punch you hit me with, you popped me,” Perry told Jake Paul’s YouTube channel. “Because I knew people were gonna be like ‘Put your hands up,’ right? I come out like this, my hands up. And my rib was wide open, and you hit me in the rib, and I was like, ‘F***, that’s it.’

“I put my hands down, and you popped it right away. And I fought through it; that’s something, and there are pieces I can be proud of. But, I think it was fair and square.”

As Perry recalled the cause of his injury, a shocked Paul replied: “Jesus.” It will give the 27-year-old added belief as he prepares for his controversial showdown with Tyson, who will be 58 years old when he makes his ring walk for his first professional bout since 2005.

In the aftermath of his win over Perry, it emerged that Paul had overcome illness and fought with an injured knuckle to earn the win in Tampa, Florida. Despite his injury, Paul has insisted it will not impact his fight against ‘Iron Mike’.

"I didn't feel very good tonight," Paul said. "I was sick leading up to this, my knuckle is messed up it's swollen like a big ball. You can see my knuckle was basically broken before the fight."

When asked about possibly delaying his fight with Tyson, he added: "No, did it delay this fight? No. I'm a warrior, man. I'll fight through anything. We put it all on the line."
