Former super heavyweight icon Butterbean has revealed he is open to an unlikely boxing comeback.
Real name Eric Esch, Butterbean rose to fame during the nineties due to his distinctive look and knockout power. The 57-year-old had his last boxing bout in 2013, retiring with a 77-10-4 record, and also competed in mixed martial arts, kickboxing and professional wrestling during his heyday.
After hanging up his gloves, Butterbean became heavily overweight, once tipping the scales at 515lbs, just over 36 stone. However, he has since undergone an incredible body transformation and has pitched getting back into the ring as part of a unique idea involving US presidential candidates Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
In a TikTok showing a clip of a US election debate, Butterbean suggested a better way to settle their differences: "If you really want to do something positive instead of fighting over each other, here's my idea - we’re going to have a [golf] driving contest between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, pay-per-view for the [army veterans].
"It's a no-brainer, it's genius. It's going to make a tonne of money for the vets. Come on Donald, Joe, let's go. Hit them balls. Let's see who can hit them furthest."
At the end of the video, Butterbean added: "Hey, if someone wants to set the pay-per-view up, I'll fight on the undercard!" In the comments section, Esch backed up his point by claiming he is "in [the] best shape ever".
Butterbean's weight-loss journey began after he enlisted the help of former WWE star Diamond Dallas Page, who is now a renowned yoga instructor. Last year, Butterbean weighed in at 21.7 stone (303.8 lbs) on social media, shedding 15 stone (212 lbs) through his 18-month programme with DDP.

His extraordinary transformation was based around Butterbean adopting a gluten and dairy-free diet while eating low-carb and high-protein meals. The extent of his weight loss meant Esch qualified for hip surgery and he has called out the likes of Mike Tyson and Jake Paul since getting in shape, though he is yet to lace up his gloves.
When asked about Biden and Trump getting into the ring as part of his pay-per-view idea, Butterbean replied: “That would be fun also but getting money for everyone that was in the military would be great.”
